Studio Triangle

Living Distance documents Xin’s most recent piece in which she worked with MIT Media Lab to launch a robotic sculpture carrying her wisdom tooth into suborbital space onboard a Blue Origin New Shepard flight. The launch had been almost a year in the making, as Xin led a team of designers, engineers, programmers, and fabricators to create EBIFA, a crystalline robotic device that could move autonomously in zero gravity. The screening will be followed by a discussion with artist Xin Liu and curator and art historian Xin Wang

1-4pm: Bodna Samachar
Zaid Islam (SPQ)
Studio 9

New York City, a location where water is abundant, is home to thousands of migrants from regions where the bodna is used, a water vessel to clean oneself after using the bathroom. Zaid is offering visitors an opportunity to borrow and use a bodna at a restroom inside the Studio Program at Queens Museum. He is providing charcoal powder to wash your hands after using the bodna. Participants are encouraged to log their experiences in a journal at the bodna station.
